Setup Drop.io to work with Mosio
Have a question, but you're too busy to fumble with the keypad? Driving? Leaving voicemail in your drop is a lot easier and safer than punching in a text message, especially while on the road. And you aren't time-restricted as you are with Jott: Instead of 15 seconds, you can drop ~400 minutes of voicemail. Call a phone number, enter a 5 digit PIN, speak, and hang up. Drop, Twitter, Mosio, and the QnAgents will do the rest!
Short Version:
Set Drop.io to update your twitter status with "d QNA Please Help http://drop.io/yourdrop [item name]". Make sure nobody else can add to your drop: anytime you put anything, including a voicemail, into this drop, Mosio is notified.
Long Version:
What you will need:
* Mosio Account
* Twitter Account
* A Drop
1. Configure Mosio to work with Twitter;
2. Configure Twitter to send direct messages from QNA to your phone. Make sure you can send questions and receive answers through twitter. This setup is beyond the scope of this howto - There are good instructions on Mosio about how to do this.
3. Get a drop. The people at drop.io give you several ways to create one, I recommend setting up from http://drop.io.
At the time of this howto, drop.io only allows for twitter notification whenever anything is added to the drop: you can't yet specify notifications only for voicemails. Since you probably don't want other people to ask question on your behalf, and there are several ways to add to the drop, make sure you setup your drop so no one else can add to it.
While logged in as admin, in the box labeled "Drop Details", click "Show" - this will show you several details about your drop; you'll need the voicemail number and pin.
4. Create a note in your drop. QnAgents will end up at your drop; this gives you an opportunity to explain exactly how they can help. Point them at the latest voicemail (which should be a the top of the list) and thank them for their efforts.
5. Configure your drop. Click "Twitter Alerts". Enter your twitter username and password in the first two dialog boxes. The third box is the text of the alert.
Sample alert:
d QNA Please Help! http://drop.io/yourdrop [item name]
You can Copy/paste the alert, replacing with your own drop. "[item name]" is a variable that tells drop.io to place the name of the voicemail file in the message. Leave that part exactly as it is, otherwise Mosio will consider subsequent notifications to be identical duplicates, and ignore them.
[item name] expands to a filename of about 38 characters; make sure you leave room for it.
(Update: Mosio has fixed the problem with hyperlinks - it is no longer necessary to use tinyurl in order to get a clickable hyperlink in your question)
6. Test your drop. Call your drop's number, enter the PIN when requested, and leave a short message. In a few moments, your alert should show up in Mosio, with a link back to your drop.
Helpful Hints:
1. I don't ask all that many questions through Mosio, I was afraid I would lose the Drop PIN when I needed it. I solved the problem by adding a contact to my phone named "Mosio #####" (substitute the actual pin for the # signs) so I'm reminded of the PIN as soon as I make the call.
2. Make sure you bookmark your drop in your browser!!! If you lose the address, there is no way to recover it, and it has access to your twitter account.
3. You are limited to 100mb with a standard drop, which is about 400 minutes of voicemail. If you use Mosio frequently, make sure you delete your older voicemails.
4. Please be extra careful if you use your phone while driving!
(Thanks to Jay at Mosio, and the Drop.io team for their excellent services and assistance on this hack!)

Record your calls with Drop.io
A standard drop has space for about 400 minutes of audio, and you can record voicemail to your drop from your phone. Most cell-phone providers allow three-way conference calling.
Combine the two, and you can effectively record your telephone conversations.
If you're placing the call, just call your drop first, then place a new call and join the two conversations together.
If you're called, place the caller on hold, call your drop, and join the calls. If you don't have to notify the other party, you can claim that your call waiting beeped.
Legalities:
Check your states laws. It is always legal to record your own calls, but you may have to notify the other party that the call is being recorded. In many states, only one party to the conversation must be aware that the call is being recorded. In other areas, all parties must be aware.
