  • So my drop can't be found on Google or Yahoo? Really?

Drop.io is exactly as private as you and the people you share your drop with make it. If you tell lots of untrustworthy people where your drop is, the password, link to it everywhere (especially on the public web, where we can't control if your stuff gets picked up by search engines), then it is not private at all. If you tell no one then it is really private.
All we can do, all any third party could ever do, is tell you that:

    • Since we don't require your email address, name, personal registration anywhere ? we can't sell your information or give away your identity
    • We don't keep a directory of drops anywhere that can be searched/directly crawled
    • We use some relatively simple and other slightly more complex tactics to try to block search engines and people trying to snoop around the site
    • We are not building a "network" and drops are not automatically linked to/made into a directory
    • We don't actively monitor your drops, though we reserve the right to do so if we suspect illicit activity
