  • 3rd Party Chat Clients!

need a client?  here is a list, or to to see how to set it up visit our DEMO

You can access your drops, and use chat through third party clients (like pigdin and adium). Here's a screen cast to explain/show how to set it up.

The Basic Instructions are as follows:

    1.  log in to your client with a Jabber/XMPP account (for instance, in pigdin: Accounts -> Manage -> Add):  you can get a Jabber/XMPP account from a bunch of places...  an easy one that works is your gmail username/password

    2.  join a drop.io chat (again, in pigdin:  Buddies --> Join a Chat)

      A.  Set the 'account' to XMPP/Jabber
      B.  Set the 'room' to the name of the drop you wish to join
      C.  Set the 'server' to conference.drop.io
      D.  Set the 'password' to the 'stream key' *

the 'stream key' is listed on the right hand side of the drop, and on the admin panel...
note: admins can change this key if they so wish
